Detoxification is a broad topic, and includes any therapy that helps eliminate toxins, including heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants, waste products from digestion and other types of toxins. Therapies can include anything from nutritional support, IV therapy, colonics, and homeopathics, among many other types of treatments.

The Treatment of Underlying Factors in Complex Illness - Nafysa Parpia, ND

This clip focuses on how Dr. Parpia begins treatment with complex patients, particularly focusing on detoxification, using testing to find what the toxicant burden is in the individual patient. At Gordon Medical, you will see we emphasize detoxification. That is because environmental toxicants impair cellular functions. With exposure, the immune system is overactivated, causing hypersensitivity, allergies, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and/or autoimmunity. The immune system may also be misdirected, and does not mount an appropriate response to infection.

Environmental Toxicity: What You Don’t Know May Hurt You

Eric Gordon of Gordon Medical Associates, discussing environmental toxicity with interviewer Neil Nathan. We will be joined by Christopher Shade, who is an expert on mercury metabolism, diagnosis and treatment and the founder of Quicksilver Scientific. Many of our patients are not fully aware of the problems associated with heavy metal toxicity (mercury and lead, especially), chemicals, electromagnetic waves and radiation and how these exposures may significantly impact their health.

The intro music on this audio is very loud, so you might want to turn the volume down until the talk starts.

Heavy Metal Chelation
(Also Mercury Chelation and Chelation Therapy)

Heavy metals-lead, mercury, and cadmium-bind tightly to tissues and organs. To remove them, oral or intravenous chelation agents are used. A chelating agent or chelator is simply a natural or man-made molecule that tightly binds to a heavy metal and then is excreted in the urine or feces.

Man-made chelators include DMSA, DMPS and EDTA, while natural chelators include chlorella, cilantro, garlic, sulfur-containing amino acids and others. EDTA chelation therapy has also been used to treat cardiovascular disease for more than 30 years.

Hydrotherapy uses hot, cold, steam, or ice water to treat disease and promote well-being. Hydrotherapy engages the body’s response to hot and cold temperatures to achieve specific goals of immune stimulation, improving circulation, inflammation modulation, detoxification, lymphatic drainage, and/or pain control. There are many unique, effective hydrotherapy techniques that alternate hot and cold applications, baths, compresses, and wraps specifically to the individual concern. Hydrotherapy is an excellent tool for both acute and chronic conditions such as digestive problems, chronic disease, immune suppression, bronchitis, muscle and joint pains, autoimmunity concerns, sinus and other chronic infections. Hydrotherapy relaxes and alleviates symptoms, and also reduces illness duration.

Mold Toxicity and Chronic Inflammatory Illness

Interview with Eric Gordon, MD on Mold Toxicity and Chronic Inflammatory Illness

Dr. Gordon has been actively involved in research into the underlying causes and treatments of chronic inflammatory illnesses. He is coauthor of the groundbreaking research paper, “Metabolic Features of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome”.  These chronic inflammatory illnesses can be triggered by biotoxin exposure, Lyme disease, and a variety of other insults to the immune system.

What's Behind the Wave of Allergies and Intolerances That Are Affecting Our Children Today?

An Interview with Michelle Perro, MD.

There is compelling evidence that gut disorders, (which include leaky gut and a reduced microbiome) are a leading contributor to weaker immune systems; the increase in autoimmune disease and a host of other problems we are seeing. With case examples, science and hints thrown in, this is a fascinating talk from a professional on the frontline.
